On IPv6 network, but shown as "No Internet access"
Hi, I am using a tunnel broker to connect to the IPv6 Internet.
I am positive that the connection is working since I can visit many IPv6-only website (e.g.
ipv6.google.com ) and HTTP runs over TCP6 so I must have a good two way connection.
The problem is that Windows mis-identifies the IPv6 tunnel's virtual interface as having no Internet access, which turns the network status icon in the tray into a useless no-signal + yellow star icon.
It does not interfere with my Internet access, but is just annoying. Does anyone know what address Windows uses to detect Internet connection? Is IPv6 enabled on that address?

Hi,
Based on my understanding, you are able to connect the internet and visit websites, but the network icon doesn’t show the correct status. If I misunderstanding,
please feel free to let me know.
Before going further, I would like to suggest you visiting
the following KBs for reference:
The network adapter icon incorrectly displays a red "X" in the Manage Network Connections window in Windows Vista
when the network adapter is connected
System icons do not appear in the notification area in Windows Vista or in Windows 7 until you restart the computer
IPv6 network address seems case-sensitive at address assignment for multiple network adapters installed on a Windows7
and Windows Sever 2008 R2 based computer
Best
Regards
Dale
